Building Envelope in Calgary, AB
Weather barrier, exterior insulation, flashing and waterproofing that keep water out of the walls.
Building Envelope, done to spec.
The building envelope is everything that separates the inside of a building from the weather: sheathing, weather barrier, insulation, flashing, windows and cladding working as one system. When it fails, the symptoms show up far from the cause, as drafts, frost in the attic, stained drywall or rot behind siding that looks fine from the street. We do envelope work on new builds, infills, townhomes and commercial buildings, and we fix failing envelopes on existing homes.
That means properly lapped house wrap and membranes, exterior rigid insulation and strapping for a rainscreen gap, custom flashing at windows, doors, decks and roof to wall transitions, and sealing the penetrations where pipes, vents and wires leave the building. Because we also install the roofing and the cladding, the envelope is detailed by the same crew that closes it in, and nothing gets covered before it's right.

Building Envelope questions.
What is building envelope work?
It's the layers that keep weather out of a building: sheathing, weather barrier, insulation, flashing and cladding. Done right, they shed water and stop air leaks. Done wrong, they trap moisture in the walls.
Do you work on commercial buildings?
Yes. We do envelope, roofing and cladding work on multi family and commercial buildings as well as homes.
